Privacy, Pets and Possibilities: Making Integrated Care Work
Tuesday, November 15, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Integration of behavioral and physical health care is supposed to improve the quality of health care, but the sharing of mental health information with physical health providers can mean inferior medical care for people with psychiatric challenges. And integration of care won’t improve outcomes if we remain limited to services that have produced lackluster results. Tuesday, November 15, 2016, we’ll be talking about making fundamental changes in how we think about mental health care and the people who use it so that integrated care can work.
During the day, you will experience interactive demonstrations of treatment modalities and dynamic presentations by individuals incorporating new approaches to integrated care. Breakouts target the interests of lawyers (how to pursue successful privacy actions, employment discrimination cases, and more) and clinicians (practices that respect privacy, achieve better outcomes, and accommodate provider needs).
Participants will come away with tangible methods to improve integrated care and their professional and personal techniques for working with and supporting colleagues, clients, people with lived experience, and family members.
